The approximately 44 km long new railway line for the Deutsche Bahn includes 15 tunnels with a total length of around 32 km and 8 valley crossings with a total length of around 5 km. The railway line between Hanau, Gelnhausen and Fulda is one of the most important and busiest routes in Germany. The new high-speed line between Gelnhausen and Fulda will adapt the infrastructure to the growing traffic. IGT, in consortium with Laabmayr, Geoconsult and Leonhardt, Andrä und Partner, was awarded the contract by DB Netz AG for lot 2 from a crossing structure (km 8130) to the tie-in point “SFS 1733” and the new line from Fulda station to Gelnhausen, BIM planning services .
