Wiener Linien have placed descign contracts for expansion of the Vienna underground network in the area of the U5/U2 line intersection. In February 2016 IGT was commissioned with design of the construction lots U5/2 and U2/21; in July 2016 the commission for independent checking of construction lot U2/20 followed.
