The A26 is one of the most important projects for the improvement of transport links in and around the Upper Austrian capital Linz. The new motorway will take a combine a large proportion of existing traffic onto a single route, relieving the urban road network.
The “core” of the A26 motorway is to be constructed in this second construction phase. The new tunnel will pass underneath the Feinberg and the roads Ziegeleistraße and Waldeggstraße. The tunnels will be twin bore to provide maximum road safety.
Im zweiten Bauabschnitt wird das “Kernstück” der A 26 umgesetzt. Der neue Tunnel verläuft unterhalb des Freinbergs, der Ziegeleistraße und der Waldeggstraße. Für höchste Sicherheit werden zwei getrennte Röhren gebaut.
