Hydroelectric Plant Spullersee
Excerpt
The Spullersee hydroelectric power plant was built between 1920 and 1932 as a second power plant for the Austrian railways to accommodate the electrification of the Arlberg railway. The entire waterway from intake to the plant is to be renewed as part of a refurbishment project.
The penstock currently consists of an intake facility, a shallow-gradient headrace pipe, a surge tank and three above-ground pressurised pipes. The refurbishment will ensure the continuous operation of the plant.
