Six of our valued colleagues gathered together to defend the honour of IGT at this year’s Businesslauf, determined by the sweat of their brows to overcome even the most gruelling of tasks our usually oh-so-mild hometown chose to throw at them. Unshakeable, proud and all-powerful, our athletes formed like a phalanx at the start line and proceeded to break through enemy lines repeatedly and with great force throughout this battle of wills.
Dietmar, braving the most treacherous of weather, the state of his running gear bearing witness to torrents of rain endured on the course, timed the use of his horsepower to perfection to chisel a veritable dream of a running tour into the venerable Salzburg cobbles. Eye witnesses report that his sheer speed rendered impossible any handover of an electrolyte-rich isotonic hop-malt-beverage, so rapid did he fly by the checkpoint in question. Such an obstacle couldn’t prevent him stopping the clock only a few seconds later than marginally younger colleague Dejan.
That the absolute top spot remained out of reach was quite possibly only due to the opposition’s observation of our brave combatants’ tactics. It remains unclear whether this was down to iniquitous snooping during training.
The fact that Bernd hat to step in for Stefan at short notice, requiring a late change of tactics, will have certainly caused some discomfort in our ranks, otherwise we would have been unstoppable!
Many thanks to Barbara, Dietmar, Alex, Dejan, Richard and Bernd. We are proud of you!
